I broke down yesterday, like fell to the floor with uncontrollable sobs and I couldn’t breathe, this was because my brother hit me really damn hard twice on my head and my family didn’t give two shits. I got so angry and pissed that I separated myself for like 20 minutes, my family got pissed. When I came back by brother was being a total asshole saying that he didn’t do anything and that he barely tapped me (he is 350 pounds and 6 foot). This made me pissed and I said sarcastically oh yeah cause you’re a perfect angel who’s done nothing ever wrong, and this pissed him off a lot because he was trying to apologize and I said sorry doesn’t make the pain go away l, sorry doesn’t make me feel better. Keep in mind that about 7-5 years ago for about that long, he was physically abusing me and hurting me, he later said this was due to his friends committing suicide and he was getting his anger out. Back to the story I broke down when he said I was being a dick and he was trying to apologize I was sobbing uncontrollably and on the floor in a crouched position where I couldn’t breathe (I have this weird thing where if I get REALLLY upset my breath comes in in huge gasps) at this point I was hella angry at him and I screamed at him to get away to which he smacked me really hard on the head and called me an asshole, my sister who I basically consider my second mother came over and comforted me while my breath was still coming in huge gasps which I can usually calm down but this was the worse I’ve ever had and my mom comes along and says “He needs to go walk it off whatever this” and my sister said something along the lines of not right now. I also heard my brother call me a wimp and they walked off. Meanwhile I’m still sobbing on the floor and my sister is still comforting me until I go to the bathroom to wash off and we all took a walk, my family wasn’t kind to me at all on the way back which I wasn’t really expecting kindness but I was shocked at the rudeness. For example my brother said something to me and I was mean to him because… well yeah and my other sister said Monte drop it we all decided you weren’t allowed to be mad at this anymore. And my brother was cracking jokes the whole way home and laughing so yeah, society expects me to have no feelings

Feminism started out as a fight for equality, not to answer stupid ass questions like "why do boys talk about boobs for hours?" Feminism is also supposed to take into account men's issues, mental health and different socialization to ensure that they have the same social standing and respect as women - as human beings. It's so sad that feminism is just being used roughly or being misunderstood and as a result so many men and boys see it as an attack on the entire male population as rebranded misandry (because sometimes it is) when really, its something that should be everyone as a human standing up for every other person as a human being.
